BRIDGE NO 7 REHABILITATION

Description:
Rehabilitation of the Bridge No 7 included the installation of a temporary hanging access platform, concrete deck removal and replacement with composite wood concrete deck, handrail replacement, cross beam and hanging beams rehabilitation, and concrete sealing of the superstructure. The work was completed in phases and with extreme care due to the heritage classification of the structure.
CONCRETE DECK REMOVAL
Removal of concrete deck in phases to reduce stresses to bridge.
INSTALLATION OF HANGING ACCESS PLATFORM
Installation of work platform to complete rehabilitation works.
COMPOSITE DECK INSTALLATION
A composite deck consisting of timber and concrete was installed to limit the weight of the deck.
INSTALLATION OF WATERPROOFING AND WEARING SURFACE
Installation of wearing surface included a three phase procedure of applying a specialty epoxy wearing surface which negated the need for asphalt.
